Cookie Policy

Last updated: March 27, 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how you use the service. CoParentSplit uses a minimal set of cookies to provide a secure and functional experience.

2. Essential Cookies

These cookies are required for CoParentSplit to function and cannot be disabled. They do not store any personally identifiable information beyond what is needed for authentication.

  • sb-access-token — A short-lived JSON Web Token issued by Supabase that authenticates your session. It expires after one hour and is refreshed automatically.
  • sb-refresh-token — A longer-lived token used to obtain a new access token when the current one expires, keeping you signed in without requiring you to log in repeatedly.
  • Service worker cache — As a Progressive Web App, CoParentSplit uses a service worker to cache static assets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, icons) on your device. This enables faster load times and limited offline access. No personal data is stored in the service worker cache.

3. Analytics Cookies

We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how co-parents use CoParentSplit so we can improve the experience. PostHog may set cookies or use local storage to assign an anonymous identifier to your session. These analytics cookies are optional and used solely for product improvement -- they are not used for advertising or sold to third parties. You can opt out of analytics tracking at any time through your account settings.

4. Third-Party Cookies

The following third-party services may set their own cookies when you interact with their features within CoParentSplit:

  • Stripe — When you subscribe to CoParentSplit or manage your payment method, Stripe may set cookies to process payments securely, prevent fraud, and comply with financial regulations. These cookies are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Vercel — Our hosting provider may set cookies for performance monitoring and speed insights to ensure the app loads quickly and reliably. These cookies are governed by Vercel's Privacy Policy.

5. Managing Cookies

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically find these options under "Privacy" or "Security" in your browser preferences. Common actions include:

  • Viewing and deleting individual cookies
  • Blocking all cookies or only third-party cookies
  • Configuring your browser to notify you when a cookie is set
  • Clearing all cookies when you close your browser

Please note that disabling essential cookies (such as the Supabase authentication tokens) will prevent you from signing in to CoParentSplit. If you only disable third-party or analytics cookies, core functionality will remain unaffected.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal and regulatory reasons. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or within the app. Continued use of CoParentSplit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

7. Contact

If you have questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at privacy@coparentsplit.com. You can also review our full Privacy Policy for more details on how we handle your data.
